When can I post the story on my site or journal?
As soon as the story is unveiled, feel free to post it anywhere you like.
Can I use a prewritten story?
Sorry, no. Stories must be brand new and not posted anywhere else previously.
Can I write a second story?
Extra stories are always wonderful. Just tell us what you plan to do – it might make a difference to how we organise the other stories.
Can I use additional characters?
Of course. Just as long as Buffy and Angel – in some form or other - are the main focus of the story.
How long should the story be?
‘Any length’ is the official stance, but most people usually do a minimum of 1,000 words. There is no upper word limit and we’ve had some monsters submitted!
I've spotted a mistake in the story I've submitted. Can I change it?
Unfortunately we can’t make changes once stories have been submitted, which is one reason we ask you to use a beta.
Can I include a picture?
Sorry, we are unable to use graphics. Save them for your journals!
Must I give warnings in my story? I want the event/character death to be a surprise!
The only warnings we require are for adult content and the comic verse. Other warnings are useful but not essential.
Can I use other variations of Buffy and Angel?
Angelus, Liam, the Buffybot and wishverse (etc) Buffy and Angel are all fine.
Do I need to use a beta?
This is strongly recommended but not insisted upon. Since errors cannot be rectified once the story has been submitted, it is in your own interest to make sure the story provided is the very best it can be.
Can I do crossovers?
Only crossovers between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel can be accepted. Crossovers between other shows, films and books, etc, are not allowed.
I’ve got a problem with/not going to finish my story in time! What do I do?
Talk to us and we’ll do our best to help.
What timeframe can I use for my story?
At any time you like. Stories set in canon or post series, are both fine. Future, fantasy, and other-dimension fic are fine, too. However, if your story is set in the comic-verse or is an all human AU, please give a warning so the reader will know what to expect.
I don’t want my real name or email to be made public!
We will only use information you feel comfortable sharing.
How will I receive feedback?
There will be an email addy at the top of your story, and after your posting day, a link will be made from the
IWRY LJ
to your story. Comments can also be made for you there.
How long has this event been running?
The I Will Remember You Marathon was started in 2004 by Leni. Chrislee ran it for five years, and I (with lots of help!) took over in 2010.
Who made the title picture?
Special thanks to
Taaroko
for the beautiful graphic.
Setting the story out, and general formatting information.
Standard Word.doc and .rtf files are the preferred versions for submission. If you don’t use these, come and talk to us and we’ll work something out.
There is no need to hand code – our templates do it automatically, but we can accept html files as well, if its easier for you.
Setting the story out for web browsers needs a different technique to normal writing. Solid blocks of text are horrible to read, so please use spaces between paragraphs and don’t use any indents.
Please don’t use solid lines (like this shortened example) all the way across the document:
______________________________________________________________
It screws our pages up and I have to take them out. Please find another way to divide your text – something like these are much better:

Thank you.
If you are still unsure about layout, have a look at the stories submitted in
previous years,
and you will be able to see for yourself how it’s done.
